WITS' State-of-the-Art Science Lab
For students in the health sciences, the ability to take all lab classes on the WITS campus is finally a reality. No more traveling off-site for labs, thanks to The Ben and Zelda Cohen Charitable Foundation Science Labs, new state-of-the-art Science Labs which were built in 2021.
The lab hosts a Physics Lab, a Biology/Chemistry Lab, and a Prep Room.
The scope of work included renovations to two science classrooms, a prep room, and an associated corridor. As part of the finish upgrades, each room received new ceilings, flooring, epoxy top casework, and lab stations as well as new paint. In addition to the finishes, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and technology systems were updated to support the new labs. Each space is a combined classroom/lab area designed with twenty-four student workstations, as well as a teacher’s demonstration table.
